We are a group of human geographers with research interests in economic geographies, governance, and citizenship.
We research:
Economic geographies, including: regional development and growth, evolutionary economic geography, innovation, digital technologies, knowledge, craft, heritage, the creative economy, venture capital and firm finance, firm location and form, social enterprise, entrepreneurship, work location and form, and gender.
Governance and citizenship, including: welfare policy, local governance, urban policy, migration, borders, diaspora, care, gender, affect and emotion, everyday life, and popular understandings of politics.
I’m a political and urban geography specialist with a research focus on governance and citizenship.
I research migration, aging, care, remittances, bordering, and everyday life in socialist societies.
I’m interested in how digital technologies and global competition are reshaping the marketplace and working lives in the creative economy.
