Human Genetics and Genomic Medicine

Close-up of hands labelling a patient blood sample for molecular analysis. In the background a computer screen shows programme code to process sequencing data.

Our research is centred around understanding the mechanisms of disease, using contemporary techniques and bioinformatics to identify and understand the basis of human disease and translating this for patient benefit.

Part of Medicine

Our scientists apply an array of contemporary techniques across many clinical areas incorporating, rare disease, cancer and more common diseases. We regularly apply ’Omics technologies to generate vast data and use bioinformatics and different modelling approaches to understand and diagnose human disease.
