Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship you must:
need to pay the overseas tuition fee
have a conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible course
be starting in Year 1 of an eligible course
Other eligibiity criteria depend on which school offers your course.
Business, Law or Physics and Astronomy
For scholarships offered by Southampton Business School, the School of Physics and Astronomy, and Southampton Law School, you must both exceed your offer and achieve either:
an A level A* grade
an International Baccalaureate grade 7 at Higher level
Chemistry, Economic, Social and Political Science, Education or Maths
For scholarships offered by the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Economic, Social and Political Science, the Southampton Education School and the School of Mathematical Sciences, you must both exceed your offer and achieve either:
an A level A or A* grade
an International Baccalaureate grade 7 or Higher level
All other schools
For all other schools, you must achieve either:
an A level A or A* grade
an International Baccalaureate grade 6 or 7 at Higher level
This applies to courses run by Biological Science, Geography and Environmental Science, Ocean and Earth Science, and Psychology.
Students who are not eligible
These scholarships are not available to students studying:
- on PGCert, PGDip, Foundation or PGR courses
- on Distance Learning courses
- with a partner institution
- at our campus in Malaysia
- on continuing professional development (CPD) courses
- only pre-sessional English - pre-sessional English students with an offer to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level can still apply
